About WAV files
The WAV (Waveform Audio File Format) is an uncompressed audio format developed by Microsoft and IBM. It stores high-quality audio data without compression, resulting in large file sizes but excellent sound fidelity. WAV is widely used in professional audio production, sound editing, and as a reference format for audio mastering. While not ideal for portable storage due to its size, it remains a standard for preserving audio quality in studios and broadcasting.
About CAF files
The CAF (Core Audio Format) is an audio file format developed by Apple for professional audio applications. It supports high-quality audio with flexible compression options and can store multiple tracks, metadata, and effects. CAF is widely used in Apple's audio production tools like Logic Pro and GarageBand due to its reliability and large file size support. While not as common as MP3 or WAV, it is valued for advanced audio editing and recording needs.
