About MPG files
The MPG (or MPEG ) format is a digital video standard developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group, widely used for storing compressed video and audio. Common in DVDs, VCDs, and early digital media, it supports efficient playback on various devices. MPG files (.mpg or .mpeg) use MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 compression, balancing quality and file size. While older formats like MP4 have largely replaced it, MPG remains compatible with most media players and is still used for legacy content.
About APNG files
APNG (Animated Portable Network Graphics) is a bitmap animation format that extends the PNG standard, supporting 24-bit images and 8-bit transparency. Unlike GIF, it offers higher quality with smoother animations and full alpha channel support. While not as widely adopted as WebP, APNG remains useful for complex animations where quality matters. We can convert APNG/PNG to animated WEBP , GIF , AVIF.

Batch Convert MPG to Animated PNG (APNG) Online

Convert multiple MPG video files into animated PNG (APNG) format—directly in your browser, completely free and secure. This tool allows you to generate smooth, high-quality animations while keeping full image transparency.

Why convert to APNG?

APNG (Animated PNG) is the next-generation alternative to GIFs and other animation formats:

  • ✅ Lossless image quality — every frame retains full detail and color depth
  • 💎 Supports 24-bit color and 8-bit transparency, unlike GIF’s 256-color limit
  • 💾 Smaller file sizes for high-quality animations
  • 🌐 Widely supported by all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)

How it works

Upload one or more MPG files and fine-tune the output options as needed. Click the Options button (top right corner) to access advanced settings.

Available Options:

  • Video Size: Set the output width and height for your APNG animation.
  • Encoding Speed: Adjust how fast the video is encoded—faster encoding may slightly increase file size.
  • Video Bitrate: Choose between 1–10,000 Kbps to control the balance between quality and file size.
  • Frame Rate (FPS): Defines how smooth the animation appears; higher FPS gives smoother playback but larger files.
  • Cut Video: Trim the animation using start and end times (HH:MM:SS). For example, 00:00:03 to 00:00:06 creates a 3-second clip.

Save & Download

Before conversion, select a folder on your device where the APNG files will be saved. Each MPG file will be automatically converted and stored after processing. When all conversions are complete, click Save All to download every APNG animation in one step.
