About LIVP files
LIVP is a photo format used by Apple on iPhone and iOS devices to store Live Photos. A LIVP file is actually a ZIP archive containing a HEIC image and a MOV video. The HEIC holds the main photo, while the MOV records the short motion clip. Apple’s iPhone and iOS create LIVP files when capturing Live Photos.
About GIF files
GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) is a bitmap image format supporting animations and 8-bit color palettes. Widely used for simple web animations, memes, and low-resolution clips due to its universal browser compatibility. However, its limited color range (256 colors) and larger file sizes make it less efficient than modern alternatives like APNG or WebP. We support converting videos and animated images to animated GIF, and convert GIF to animated WEBP , APNG and AVIF.

Batch Online Conversion from LIVP to GIF

SoConvert can freely convert your iPhone Live Photos into images, animated images, or video formats.

This tool can quickly batch convert LIVP files to GIF format, completely free and with no feature limitations.

Conversion mechanism:

If the target format is a still image, the tool will use the HEIC/HEIF (still image) file inside the LIVP and convert it to a still image (such as JPG, PNG, WEBP, etc.).

If the target format is an animated image or video, the tool will use the MOV file inside the LIVP and convert it to an animated image or video (such as GIF, MP4, etc.).

When converting to images, you can also adjust the image width, height, and quality.

You can set the output Width and Height in the Options at the top-right corner to control the size of the converted GIF files.

This tool also supports directly uploading a folder to batch convert all LIVP files inside it.

Detailed settings:

  1. Width and height: You can customize the width and height of the output GIF.

  2. Quality: You can set a range from 0–100 to control the quality of the converted GIF files. A higher value means clearer images and larger file sizes. You can use this to reduce the file size of GIF images.

Settings for converting to animated images / videos:

  1. Output size: You can customize the width and height of the output GIF, or scale it down by a ratio.

  2. Trim video: By entering a start and end time, you can trim the MOV file inside the LIVP. Usually the MOV is only a 3‑second video.

How to save GIF files: After the conversion is complete, click the Save All button to save all converted GIF files to the specified folder, without manually downloading them one by one, which saves time.

This tool can also be used as a tool to extract GIF files from LIVP. Essentially it is the same: if you do not set any width and height parameters, it is equivalent to extracting GIF files from LIVP.
